Mass Media Must be Used for Islam – Iran

Hassan Qashqavi, Iran Foreign Minister, has allegedly said the capacity of the mass media and information technology must be used in introducing and improving the real image of Islam worldwide. According to the Daily Times he urged the Muslim countries to pay due attention to thwart “organized propaganda campaign” against Islam, instead of focusing on minor religious differences among various Islamic sects.

Foreign Ministry also said that Islamic scholars should downgrade minor differences among various Islamic sects and focus on neutralizing organized propaganda against Islam while he addressing in an international conference on Islam and Media in the 21st century in Sudan. He added, “Solidarity of media activities in the Muslim world is necessary to guide the world public opinion about Islam,” while referring to the key role played by mass media to this end. He said in a statement that during his address to the conference, the spokesman outlined Tehran’s view on the ways to lead world public opinion by media activities. Qashqavi stressed that Islamic states could successfully portray a logical and acceptable image of Islam for the world public opinion through making optimum use of mass media.

It is true that some media highlights only few suspected Muslim leader and their controversial activities but they do not broadcast actually what is Islam and what Islam says about the controversial activities. In every religion there is a few ill-hearted people whose activities are not tolerable but only for those people we cannot say that one’s religion is not good.

There are very few suspected people in Islam but only for those you should not say Islam is not good. Before remark any religion you should know their holly book and their God, then remark. But you could not remark about a religion to see just few suspected person activities. So, every Muslim state should take step to others to inform that what Islam is.

On the other hand, nowadays kids are learning dirty talks from several TV programs. The cartoons and animation shows today are even rated, some of them with a PG13 rating. Generally this rating is for the foul language; nevertheless, a number of those are rated for the sex and violence. The youngster of today are learning from the daily soap operas, drama series just how easy and simple it is to go from one husband or wife to another one with no feelings of guilt. Not only that but also some programs show how to live together easily without getting married. But are those the morals we actually want to teach out young people?

But you will be surprised if you hear that sometimes it affects the adults that they really lose their own opinion and judgment they feel whatever is being shown on TV screen is correct and ought to be practiced as such.

TV as its own part is neutral, that is, it is not good, not bad. But TVs’ programs are bad or good for us is a considerable matter. You should filter those TV shows which pernicious for our society, destructive for tender mind, threat for our values, controversial for religious belief. It is duty for not only parents to supervise their kids what they watch TV but also broad casters responsibility to show such programs what is safe and good to be shown on the TV. Moreover, authority should make some rules and regulation for TV program. We should keep a word in our mind today’s child is tomorrow’s leader, so we should care of them.
