Muslim Lady Appointed as Obama’s Advisor

On Monday, the administration of US has chosen a Muslim lady as a consultant of president Obama.
According to the Hindustan times, Mogahed, who is an Egyptian born American, was the chief of the Gallup American Centre for Muslim Studies which is a non governmental study centre. And after her appointment she became first Muslim lady who appointed in the White House. It may be predictable that, from now Mogahed will be Obama’s window to connect with the Muslim community of American. On Geo TV, Mogahed said,
“I am very honored to be given this opportunity to serve my country in this way.”
Dalia Mogahed already met to the senate staff after her appointment. The meeting was organized by the Staffers Association of Congressional Muslims. From now, Mogahed will concise Obama on those topics, which Muslims desire from US government. She explained,
The key idea of the office is to tap the energy and wisdom of religious organizations and leaders who focus on faith groups to solve common problems.
Tigers Used Civilians as Human Shield

Sri Lankan Tamil Tiger rebels are now on the run with the Lankan soldiers and continuing its armed assault over the north-east of the country. Earlier halt in fighting only more than 1,000 individuals leave the battle zone on the small coastal strip. The area is still run by the Tigers. The halt allowed civilians to escape during previous week. However, more than100,000 civilians are still survived in this area.
Sri Lankan administration says while the defense force is advancing on the region, no massive assault will be occurred there as the area has already declared as a safe zone for general people. On the other hand, The United Nations (UN) said thousands of civilians are being held as human shields by the rebels Tigers. The UN asked the Sri Lankan forces to protect the civilians.
Obama Makes Surprise Visit to Iraq

President Obama made an unexpected surprise tour to Iraq on Tuesday, stopping to visit American troops and leaders before returning to Washington from his first overseas trip as president. The visit marks his third to Iraq, but his first as the commander in chief.
Air Force One was landed at Baghdad International Airport at 4:42 pm with president. Obama, U.S. President Barack Obama admired cheering soldiers in Baghdad in his four-hour visit and said he would stand by his promise to withdraw all fighting troops by 2011. Obama told the troops the next 18 months are critical to the mission. U.S. troops are predictable to be out of the country by the end of 2010. President greets lots of military personnel and said for them,
You’ve kept your eyes focused on just doing your job and because of that, every mission that’s been assigned, from getting rid of Saddam to reducing violence to stabilizing the country to facilitating elections; you have given Iraq the opportunity to stand on its own as a democratic country. That is an extraordinary achievement and for that you have the thanks of the American people.
A total of 4,266 U.S. troops have lost their lives in Iraq since March 2003, and he said the forces had “performed brilliantly … under enormous strain.”
Obama as well assembled with Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, who assured the president that all the improvement that has been occur in the security area will carry on. But, Obama’s visit was actually vital for the U.S. military. His appearance pleased troops interviewed by reporters. They said they were appreciative the new president came to visit so quickly after taking office.
