An American military sergeant named Sgt John M. Russell was charged to kill five colleagues in Iraq. The sergeant was being got treatment for combat stress in a mental health clinic. He killed the five people by opening fire at this clinic. It was third time that he deployed in the country. He is a communications specialist and worked with 54th Engineering Battalion.
He was sent in custody at Camp Liberty after the shooting. Camp Liberty is located the outskirts of Baghdad. He was charged with both five counts of murder and an aggravated assault. The custody is an extremely fortified complex close to the airport. It is basically sealed off from the countrymen to cut threats to the soldiers.
Military officials said earlier the sergeant had been considered a threat to both him and others; so, he was totally not allowed to get a weapon. He was going under a counseling process and receiving some other medical assistance during the shooting. It is assumed that he did the accident with a stolen weapon.
