The Russian Federation (Russia) has donated three titanic multi-purpose tents for use as field hospitals in flood-ravaged regions of Nepal, the South Asian country as a sign of friendship. On the other hand, the United Nations (UN) and World Health Organization (WHO) say as the agency continues supplies to give relief to flood victims.
Heavy rainfall in the month of August, afterward severe flash floods in the month of September, affected over 200,000 people throughout Nepal and displaced no less than 70,000 people. Here WHO has already droved mobile health teams with various medical supplies and other necessary equipment to the most affected regions, in association with the Nepalese Ministry of Health and Population. The three multi-purpose pneumatic tents will be used to maintain on-going health emergency response operations in the most affected districts by the flooding such as Sunsari and Saptari.
Some political analysts say Russia want to make balance of power in the geographically important south Asian region and this donation is an initial step to make good relation with South Asian countries.
