Moscow Wants to Talk with Washington

Both parties take cool breath after a long time as the Russian government has made the Strategic Arms Treaty a top priority for talks with its counter part the US administration. Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov said a new legally binding Russian-American treaty must be signed to prevent the spread of nuclear weapons. He made this remark recently in a speech to UN members. It is noted that the Strategic Arms Treaty expires in December 2009.
Informing about his government view, Lavrov said Moscow would be prepared to take up American request that it reset its relations with Washington to make dialogue on common interest issues. He stated his belief that Moscow could work with the new Obama administration. He expressed there was something it had found hard to do with the Bush administration. On the other hand, Lavrov reiterated Russia’s concerns to Hillary Clinton last week about basing a missile defense shield in Poland and in the Czech Republic. He said to Hillary his country would have to take counter measures. In the circumstances, the new announcement from Moscow would help to establish tranquility between two powerful countries.
MoU will Develop Relationship between India and Hungary

The decision was made at the meeting of Dr. M.S. Gill, Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports, India with the Hungarian counterpart, Dr. Istvan Gyenesei on 11 November when Dr. Gill is on a four-day official tour to Hungary. On the other hand, Dr. Gill extended his invitation to Dr. Istvan Gyenesei for visiting India.
In this official meeting; both leaders discussed different modes for promoting the assistance and cooperation between the friend-like two countries in the area of sports particularly in the fields of coaching and training of athletes. Moreover, Dr. Gill showed keen interest in engaging the coaches for Fencing, Konoying, and Kayaking. In this tour, Dr. Gill visited National Training Institute, in Tata near Budapest as well as Hungary’s Sports University in Budapest as well.
During the visit to the both Institutes campuses, Dr. Gill talked about the modes of enhancing cooperation between the Sports Authority of India and the National Training Institute and the Lakshmibai National Institute of Physical Education in Gwalior. The experts hope that this visit and the agreement will improve the relationship between these two countries.
Russia Donates three tents to Nepal

The Russian Federation (Russia) has donated three titanic multi-purpose tents for use as field hospitals in flood-ravaged regions of Nepal, the South Asian country as a sign of friendship. On the other hand, the United Nations (UN) and World Health Organization (WHO) say as the agency continues supplies to give relief to flood victims.
Heavy rainfall in the month of August, afterward severe flash floods in the month of September, affected over 200,000 people throughout Nepal and displaced no less than 70,000 people. Here WHO has already droved mobile health teams with various medical supplies and other necessary equipment to the most affected regions, in association with the Nepalese Ministry of Health and Population. The three multi-purpose pneumatic tents will be used to maintain on-going health emergency response operations in the most affected districts by the flooding such as Sunsari and Saptari.
Some political analysts say Russia want to make balance of power in the geographically important south Asian region and this donation is an initial step to make good relation with South Asian countries.
